Walks will be for Members Only for the coming weeks.

Eoin Wolahan led the A walk. The group of 14 started from Coolbaun Wood in the Galtee Mountains near Anglesboro. Walking through the woods for about a mile and then turned right climbing towards Knockaterriff. After gaining height they descended down to Pigeonrock River and contoured up the valley before turning left to climb to the top of Temple Hill where they had lunch. The scenery was magnificent. The weather was bright and visibility excellent. They descended Temple Hill and later went through some heather and difficult terrain before reaching the road back to the cars. Total ascent was 722 meters and the route was 11.4 km. An excellent walk in very favourable weather.

John G O’Dwyer led the C walk with group of 5 started walk from Crow Hill car park which they had all to themselves. Heading downhill for a short period then took a right and followed waymarker for Blackwater Way. As the group had the advantage of starting from elevation of 455m they enjoyed beautiful views from the beginning of walk. Lunch was had overlooking the road cutting through the Vee and the valley was beautiful in lovely sunshine. After a short climb group reached peak of 630m and explored the gentle hills of the Western Knockmealdowns and following tracks of the Blackwater Way looped back to cars after a most enjoyable walk and day out.
