Sunday 2 Feb 2020 Ger Fewer led the A walk with group of 14 beginning their walk on the east side of the Galtees, with the crossing of a river and with the help of the wind on their backs, the group headed for Farbreaga. With, at times, strong winds and fog they then headed for Greenane with lunch at O’Loughlins Castle, from there, descended down and climbed Knockasteen. Fabulous views. A great day out enjoyed by all.

Dan Condren led a very eventful and enjoyable C walk. Group of 10 people enjoyed circuit around the Nire Valley. Walking the completed section of the new boardwalk which will certainly help to reduce the terrible erosion which is happening in this section of the valley. Encountering the friendly Fox who lunched with the group at the lake. Group crossed the ridge to the Coumfea river which was too flooded to cross, so headed back to the cars. On the way, members of the group encountered a hidden bog hole and had to be helped out! Overall, it was a great day out in the hills.

This coming Sunday (Feb 9) A and B walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 10am.
