02 July 2021

For the Friday Evening Walk on 2 July 2021, the destination was Killamuck bog loop in Abbeyleix. The group met at Manor Hotel Carpark, crossed the road and headed in towards the church and then under the tunnel of the old railway line. The group chatted as they rambled in ideal off road walking conditions. The loop has it all, from woodland to bogland to a grassy old railway line and through a managed wildlife habitat where we meandered along the boardwalk. We only got a small taste of Scout the Dog’s “Best Day Ever” as we explored the new section of connected boardwalk. We would encourage people to explore the adventures of Scout the Dog as the book is displayed along the path directly from the Manor Hotel car park and have, like us, an enjoyable adventure in Killamuck bog loop.

Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health – it is free and doesn’t require any special equipment or training. Walking is the easiest way to get moving, get active and fit with friends and to have a chat & a laugh. Hope you can come and join us. Please bring a flask & snack for cuppa after walk.

Next Friday Evening 9 July, the walk is heading to Latteragh – meeting at Shanahan’s rear Carpark in Borrisoleigh at 6.45pm sharp. Please bring a flask & snack for cuppa after walk. If interested, please book in with Tina Bourke at 086 3565134 before Wednesday 7th July.
