1 Sept 2019

The Sunday walks returned and to start the season there were two walks on Sept 1st 2019. The A walk was led by Eoin Wolahan. The group of 11 started at the lower Vee car park. Enjoying beautiful dry weather with intermittent September sunshine they walked up to Bay Lough and proceeded to take an anticlockwise route crossing three streams before turning up hill and having lunch in the comfort of a large cairn at the summit of Knockshanahullion. During walk observing magnificent views of beautiful south Tipperary. Then proceeded over the summit before descending to the Vee and back to the cars down by Bay Lough. It was a very enjoyable walk in a picturesque place.

Winnie Flynn led the C walk with group of 11 out, parking at King’s Yard and making their way towards Blackrock Valley, walking by the wall and crossing Blackrock river, up the zig zag track to the col between Monabrac and Bengower, down to the Glounreagh river, crossed wooden bridge and back to King’s Yard before the rain came, beautiful day with wonderful company,
