Sun 10 Mar 2019 was an amalgamated walk of A & B walkers. The walk was led by Ger Fewer and Dick Hennessy. They had a great walk in the east Galtee Mountains. Initially the weather was excellent beautiful spring sunshine with fabulous views of the Galtee mountains in front and spectacular views of the Comeragh mountains behind. The 12 walkers started at Boolakennedy then proceeded several river crossings close to point 382. Then headed towards the Cairn point 587 (not too far from Sturrakeen) where they had lunch. The walk was like a “game of two halves” after lunch the weather changed to strong winds and hail/snow falling. They made their way back visiting an old kill (used to limestone land) and an old house ruin. There were scenic views when the sun shined through the clouds. As they approached the cars the sun came out. Well done to Ger and Dick for an impromptu safe and enjoyable walk
Sunday Ramble led by Tina Bourke headed to Crag loop, Grange. The group of 12 started in snow. Reaching Wellington Tower the group enjoyed beautiful blue skies and sunshine. Returning to the cars just before a hail storm the group enjoyed lovely refreshments in Hogans.
