The A Walk
The A group had 10 walkers on a very enjoyable hike in the Comeragh’s with Dick Hennessy leading in beautiful balmy weather. The walk began from the farmyard close to Rathgormack. The group headed up towards The Gap and then up Carraig na gower with a southwest wind making it very pleasant for walking. They then contoured around the ring above Com an Iarthair before heading across to Crottys Rock for lunch. Everyone enjoyed the steep descent down to Crottys Lake before the arduous trek through the ferns back to the cars. All agreed it was a very pleasant day out in ideal conditions for hill walking.
The C Walk
The C Walk was led by Denise Laffan. They started their walk through a forest at Carey’s Castle and then went onto open hillside with views of the Holy Year Cross and Clonmel town. From there, the group went down to the Glenary Village. It was such a lovely day that the group decided to extend the walk, which led them onto Long Hill and then southwards crossing a river and back down through the forest by the Glenary River; it was a very enjoyable walk under beautiful sunshine.
Next Sunday 20 June 2021 an A Walk will leave Cashel at 9.30am and a B Walk will leave Cashel at 10am. Please let Denise know by Thursday, the 17th of June at 087 9253049.
