Ger Fewer led the A walk. The group of 11 began their walk at the waterworks in East Galtees. They walked around the base of Knockastakeen, along the river and after crossing it the group headed up Farbreaga against a strong headwind. The wind continued as they headed to Greenane and on towards O’Loughlins’s castle, close to which they had lunch in misty conditions. From there they descended and then climbed Knockastakeen and walkied back down to the cars. The weather improved as they descended giving them fabulous views. A great day out enjoyed by all.
Eoin Wolahan led C walk with group of 15. Starting from Clonmore Wood near Raheen, Cahir. Walking through lovely wooded area before entering an open space where they continued up a dirt road to contour around a forest area. Gaining height and eventually reached two peaks Tullanebane and Slieveanard peaks. The scenery was magnificent in the lovely sunshine. An enjoyable walk in excellent conditions.
