Sunday April 14 2019 Dan Condren led the A walk where 2 hardy souls braved the elements where they had a great walk in the Nire valley. They followed the stream, up to its source in the Coumalougha lakes where they had a short and wet lunch. Afterwards they explored the lakes before returning via the Sgillogues ridge.
Winnie Flynn led the C walkers. 5 of them braved the wet conditions, they were on the east side of the Galtees, Ballydavid area, forest with off trail tracks and out onto the open mountain Sturrakeen was their highlight, unfortunately no views.
This coming Sun (Apr 21) A and B walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am. All welcome. Wear outdoor clothing and suitable footwear and bring a rain jacket and a packed lunch.
Early Easter Sunday 21st April, Sunrise Mass at the Ballyboy lookout. Leaving Upperchurch Village at 6:00am sharp and walk to the Ballyboy Lookout (approx 1.5km) for the open-air Mass.
Walking is a great way to get fit as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places. Give it a go as new walkers are welcome to come along, so, for a healthy, sociable and enjoyable activity, feel free to join us in Cashel at 11am. Just bring boots, suitable clothes and a packed lunch. A change of clothes and particularly footwear for after the walk is also strongly advised.
