Sunday 16 Feb 2020 Denise Laffan led group of 7 on the A walk, with lovely sunshine, they headed for Cloheenafishoge and from there headed east of Farbreaga to some unknown hills. Had a lovely lunch looking across onto Sturrakeen, after lunch, a heavy snow shower came while making their descent opposite Kilcoran Forestry, a good fresh day to be out.

It was the proverbial walk of two halves for the 7 walkers who ventured out on the C walk led by Eddie Morrissey. The group started just below the Galtee Waterworks near Rossadrehid. They skirted along the base of Knockastackeen before following a fast flowing stream up to Borheen Lough. They enjoyed wonderful views of Cush and Galtybeg as they skipped along over a series of mountain streams. Storm Dennis joined the group for lunch at Borheen Lough and he was joined by hail and sleet as he followed them along the base of Cush as they made their way back to the cars.

This coming Sunday (Feb 23) A and B walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 10am, there is also Sunday Ramble leaving Thurles at 10am sharp. We have new car park meeting point at Ely’s Centra The Mall car park at the back of the shop.
