16 July 2021

Friday 16 July 2021 Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers celebrated 15 years of Friday evening walks.
We had great support and goodwill from both current and past walkers and enjoyed a walk on a very warm and humid evening to the top of Wellington Tower on The Crag loop in Grange. Afterwards, we had a great evening of friendship outside Hogan’s in Grange, where it was lovely as friends who came out with the group over the past 15 years renewed old acquaintances. Thanks to Josephine at Hogan’s Bar who provided lovely sandwiches and refreshments. The outdoor celebrations and delicious Birthday cake made by Tina Bourke were enjoyed. So, many thanks to all who baked and helped out and to all who attended and made a memorable night.

The Friday evening walks are an opportunity to explore the beauty of the Tipperary countryside by providing low-level but scenic walks for those not wishing to take on the big challenges. The walks have proven a huge success and have explored many of the most scenic areas of Tipperary including the Dundrum, Templederry, Latteragh, Glen of Aherlow, the Silvermines, Grange and Kilcommon while in recent years the group had branched out to explore some of the finest low-level walks in County Laois and Kilkenny.

Next Friday, 23 July 2021 the Friday Evening Walk is heading to Gooldscross, to complete new loop which has off road walking conditions – Boots required.
– meeting opposite Church in Clonoulty at 640pm sharp.
Please bring a flask & snack for cuppa after walk. For walk please book in with Tina 086 3565134 before Wednesday 21 July.
