Sunday 16th Sept 2018
Josephine Tobin led a great walk in the Galtees, Grouo of 8 A walkers completed Lough Curra, Galteemore, Galteebeg and Cush circuit. Approx 4 hours 40 mins inclusive of a Birthday Party for Dick celebrating with a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake.
As majestic Autumn sun shone gloriously on sixteen C walkers, they made their way to summit the mighty Cush at 639 meters. Traversing the ridge with ease then downhill and headed up to the tear shaped Borheen Lough. Return journey yielded views of glacial erosion which resulted in formation of Lough Dineen and Curra. Our imaginations almost led us to totally believe they were used as washing basins by giants of our folklore. We contoured around Cush to downward path. A great day out on the Galtees led by Mary Power. The A & C walkers met at final stile and chatted about great day out before both groups returned to their cars.
This coming Sunday (Sept 23rd) A and B walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am.
Walking is a great way to get fit as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places. Give it a go as new walkers are welcome to come along, so, for a healthy, sociable and enjoyable activity, feel free to join us in Cashel at 11am. Just bring boots, suitable clothes and a packed lunch. A change of clothes and particularly footwear for after the walk is also strongly advised.
The full programme of walks is now on our website at www.midtipphillwalkers.ie. For further information visit the website or Facebook or call
