20 Aug 2021

On a wet wet wet Friday 20 Aug 2021 the group headed to Upperchurch to complete the Eamon an Chnoic loop. Despite the weather the spirits were high among the hikers up on the hills of Upperchurch. Thanks to everyone for joining us on another lovely evening on the hills of Upperchurch. The weather cleared up for the camping chairs to come out as refreshments were enjoyed by a large number of the group after the walk. Thanks everyone for coming out and making it an enjoyable evening.

Going going gone. Where has our summer gone. Next Friday 27 Aug 2021 is the last walk of our series of Friday evening excursions. Heading to Heywood Gardens meeting in Durrow 630pm for start of walk in Heywood at 645pm.

Heywood Gardens, near Ballinakill, County Laois, consists of gardens, lakes, woodland and some exciting architectural features. The park is set into a sweeping hillside. The architect Sir Edwin Lutyens designed the formal gardens, which are the centrepiece of the property. One of the site’s most unusual features is a sunken garden. The Heywood experience starts beside the Gate Lodge. Information panels and signage will guide you around the magical Lutyens gardens and the surrounding romantic landscape.

Please bring a flask & snack for cuppa after walk. If interested, please book in with Brid 0868071753 before Wed 25 August.
