20 Oct 2019

20th Oct 2019. A group of 10 on the A walk led by Matt Joy set off from the waterworks above Rosadrehid in beautiful conditions and made their way to start the long climb up Galtybeg where they were greeted by severe wind & gusts making the going tough. From there they made their way to Lough Borheen and onward to finish out on Knockastakeen. Thanks to all for a great day full of chat & fun.

Dan Condren led B walk, a group of 18 enjoyed a beautiful day in the Comeragh mountains, going up by the swollen stream in Coumlara and descending over the Sgillogue lakes. Due to the direction of the wind, the highlight of the day was the rare and thrilling sight of the Seanbhean Waterfall being blown upwards and backwards in a plume of heavy mist. The spot well-earned its nickname of “Seanbhean ag cathamh tabac (the old woman smoking tobacco)”. All enjoyed their day out.

This coming Sun (Oct 27) A and C walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am. All welcome. Walking is a great way to get fit as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places. Give it a go as new walkers are welcome to come along, so, for a healthy, sociable and enjoyable activity, feel free to join us in Cashel at 11am.
