22 Dec 2019

22 Dec 2019 Denise Laffan led A walk with group of 9 walkers starting with a climb up the Punchbowl then headed for Lachtnafrankee, had a lovely lunch in the sun down by a stream and then walked up to Long Hill and back down through the forestry, fantastic day for walking.

Eoin Wolahan led the C walk. The group of 3 started at Boolakennedy and headed up the mountain going westward towards Ballhurrow and reaching the first Cairn. The weather was mild and sunny and had fabulous views. Taking in the second Cairn they went northwards on the Greenane mountain range, then eastwards and descending to the derelict house where had lunch in the winter sunshine. Visited the old lime kill before heading southwards back to the cars. It was a fantastic day for walking, ground conditions were soft but good we had stunning views and good weather. A most enjoyable walk.

We would like to wish all our members and their families a very happy & peaceful Christmas & best wishes for lots of lovely walks in 2020.
