23 Jan 2022

23rd Jan 2022, Kate Fahey led 23 walkers on the C walk in the west Knockmealdowns. They parked at the already busy Crow Hill carpark, and then hiked up Crow Hill and on to Fearbreaga at 518 m. It was chilly but good underfoot. They continued downhill to a shaded area for lunch. From there they went uphill and joined a forest track which brought them back to the carpark. Everyone was in good spirits throughout the day. We extend a warm welcome to the new walkers that joined us.
Olly Walsh led 9 A walkers on a 10k walk in onto the Galtees on a beautiful winter’s day. They parked 1.5km in on a track from the lower Clydagh Bridge parking area. They climbed to the Dan Breen hideout and from there they crossed the Tipperary Limerick border. From here they made their way up Gloungarriff and eventually topped out near the Galtee wall where they had shelter for a well-earned lunch. From here they followed the wall until meeting the turnoff for Slievecushnabinnia where they descended down to the track which led back to their cars via Knocknanuss.
Next Sunday, 30th January, the Ramblers are heading to Eamon an Cnoc in Upperchurch, meeting in the village at 10.30. Sturdy boots required and bring a flask for a cuppa afterwards. For more details contact Tina on 086 3565134.
