Ollie Walsh had 6 on A walk on north side of Galtees on a very pleasant winter’s day getting down to base layers on way to Sturrakeen then via 2 cairns on way to Farbreaga for lunch then return to cars via our river crossing with our improvised ladder balancing act. Very enjoyable day.

Kate Fahey had 9 on C walk on Slievenamon. Starting 4 km North of the Kilcash trail. Walking uphill through farmland on to Sheegouna in very foggy conditions. Then on to Slievenamon for lunch. They then headed downhill to pick up a track leading uphill back to Sheegouna and returning to the track where the walk started. They were very grateful for the use of a container to change clothes in the rain and the local farmers parking facilities.

Next Sunday 1 Dec A & B walks will leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 10am, there is also Sunday Ramble leaving Thurles at 10am sharp. The Sunday Ramble is heading to Latteragh meeting at usual start of walk at 1030am. This walk will be on forestry path. Hope you can come and join us. Contact Brid 086 8071753.

Walking is a great way to get fit as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places. Give it a go as new walkers are welcome to come along, so, for a healthy, sociable and enjoyable activity, feel free to join us in Cashel at 10am. With the winter upon us and the ever changing weather on the hills, the club recommends walkers to come prepared by bringing the correct clothing/gear for the walks on a Sunday. The following is a minimum list of essentials to have with you on a days Hill Walk: Hiking Boots with good grip, Waterproof Jacket & Leggings, Warm Clothing,
Hat & Gloves and spares, torch, food & water, walking poles, whistle and charged mobile phone. A change of clothes and particularly footwear for after the walk is also strongly advised. There’s a choice of walks each Sunday, so there’s something to suit everyone.

The full programme of walks is now on our website at www.midtipphillwalkers.ie. For further information visit the website or Facebook or call Denise Laffan at (087) 925 3049 for any query re walks.
