Sunday 25 July 2021 Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers held and A and C walk.
The A Walk was led by Denise Laffan. The walk started at Kings Yard, through some forestry and then onto Moanabrack in beautiful sunshine and with a lovely breeze. The group then headed up towards the Galty Wall and onto Lyracappul. There were great views all round, particularly during lunch. Afterwards, the group headed down alongside Knockaterrif and then back by the Behanagh River, making their way back through the forestry; a fantastic day to be out walking.
John G O’Dwyer led the C walk. The group enjoyed a lovely time in the Glen of Aherlow. The day was warm, but the shaded woodland paths made everything pleasant. Followed the Ballinacourty Loop to the west before looping back east to lunch while enjoying superb views at Rock an Thorabh. Then, it was on by the northern slopes of the Steeple to the Millennium Monument for another shaded break. The day ended with a ramble back to the Aherlow House Hotel by way of the Christ the King Statue and the lovely Nature Park after about 4.5 hours among the hills.
Afterwards, almost everyone stayed around to enjoy the welcome reward of some cool drinks while sitting outside on the Hotel terrace.
Next Sunday 01 Aug 2021 an A Walk will leave Cashel at 9.30 am and a B Walk will leave Cashel at 10 am, if you are interested in going on either of these walks, please let Denise know at 087 9253049 by the 30 July.
