Friday Evening Walk 25 June 2021
Group descended on the lovely hill of Cooneen just outside Templederry village. A few new people joined the group and were made very welcome. There was plenty of chat and laughter as the group stepped it out up the country lane, enjoying the enchanted forest before turning onto the highest point of Cooneen. There were beautiful views across to Borrisoleigh, Templederry and the splendid Moher Clea over Kilcommon. While the evening remained dry, for a June evening it was quite chilly, so the jackets came out as the group made their way back to the cars. A special thank you to Catherine O Brien and Margaret Skehan for bringing up the rear, thanks ladies.
Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health – it is free and doesn’t require any special equipment or training. Walking is the easiest way to get moving, get active and fit with friends and to have a chat & a laugh. Hope you can come and join us. Please bring a flask & snack for cuppa after walk.
Next week Friday 2 July 2021 we are heading to Abbeyleix, to complete the Killamuck bog loop which has ideal off road walking conditions, from woodland to bogland to an old railway line and through an area managed as a wildlife habitat where we meander along the boardwalk – meeting in the Manor Hotel car park at 7pm. For walk, please book in with Brid 086 8071753 before Wednesday 30 June.
