Sunday 26 July 2020
Walks will be for Members Only for the coming weeks.
On A walk, group of 10 accompanied Dick Hennessy on a hike from Kings yard in the Galtees in intermittent mist and rain. The Attychrann river guided the walkers up to Galtee Beag. They then proceeded to Galteemore for a well earned lunch. After reaching the Galtee wall they contoured down to the Glenreagh river and back to the cars. A most enjoyable day out.
Mary Power led the B walk and group of 15 started walk in Glengarra woods – light shower as they ascended to O’ Loughlins castle, then lunch just east of Greenane. Circuit route to return to cars. Ground conditions very favourable and an enjoyable walk was had by all.
Next Sunday 2 August 2020 an A Walk will leave Cashel at 9.30 am and a C Walk will leave Cashel at 10 am, if you are interested in going on either of these walks as they will be kept to a maximum of 15 people for the coming weeks, please let Denise know at 087 9253049 by Friday, 31th of July 2020.
John G O’Dwyer will lead the C Walk which will explore the gentle hills of the Western Knockmealdowns, starting from elevation of 455m following tracks of the Blackwater Way with just a short digression to gain the lovely viewing at peak 630m. Estimated walk time 3.5 to 4 hours.
