Eoin Wolahan led A walk from Coolagarranroe which is located just west of Glengarra Wood. They walked along a woodland path for about 2 km then headed for Loughlin’s Castle where they had lunch. They went down to Galtee Beg Coll and on to Greenane West and then on to the black road. Then went up and down Knockeenatoung and headed back to cars. The terrane was covered in snow and it snowed during various stages of the walk. The walk was enjoyed by all.
Mary Power and group of 4 completed a circuit of Ballydavid Woods. It included walking along base of Slievenard, Corrig rock and return via Clogheragh. Sunshine and two showers added to enjoyment and surrounding scenery.
Our next outing is Sun 3 Jan 2021 the A Walk will leave Cashel at 9.30 am and a C Walk will leave Cashel at 10 am, if you are interested in going on either of these walks as they will be kept to a maximum of 15 people for the coming weeks, please let Denise know at 087 9253049 by Thur 31 Dec.
We would like to wish all our members and their families a very happy, peaceful and safe 2021 and look forward to lots of lovely walks in 2021.
COVID-19 Restrictions from 27 Dec 2020 you should not travel outside of your county. Non-contact outdoor sport and exercise is allowed in pods of up to 15. Club activity can continue with physical distancing and contract tracing measures in place.
Long-standing advice from Mountaineering Ireland is to limit the size of the group, this is for the purposes of group management, safety, parking etc.
Travel – stay within your own county, do not car-share
Parking – car parks may be busier due to no car-sharing
Planning – the days are shorter and the weather is changeable
Contact tracing – record details of all group members for contact tracing purposes
Social distancing – maintain distance before, during and after activity
Equipment – do not share equipment
Symptoms & contacts – stay at home is you have any symptoms or have been a close contact
