The Friday Evening walk season of 2019 has been very successful and has now finished. Aug 30 we headed to Templederry and had 31 people out on our last Friday evening walk of 2019. The group completed the circuit of Cooneen Hill. Entering the glen of the Nenagh river near Longjohnshill and heading up to Poul an Ass and the sound of the waterfall. Climbing up the country road to the forest track entrance. The group walked along the trail and back to our cars. On a dull evening we had views over the rolling hills of Templederry and we got a brief view of Nenagh town lights. 28 of our group were spoiled with delicious fare in Stapletons Pub in Borrisoleigh.
A big thank you to each and everyone who walked with us from May 24 to August 30. We had 15 Fridays and visited a different location on 13 evenings. We had in total nearly 500 people out over the 15 Friday walks. We are so lucky to have such beautiful walks and hills on our doorstep. We enjoyed showing our newcomers what Tipperary walking has a lot to offer and to our many regulars who have become friends enjoying the chat and banter as we walked and climbed the hills and valleys. Hope that now the fitness levels have increased that people will continue walking with the club and also come out on the Sunday rambles.
The next Sunday Ramble is Sept 8 and we are heading to Upperchurch to compete The Eamon an Chnoic loop walk. Meeting in Upperchurch village near Kinnane’s Pub at 1030am. This loop explores fields, old laneways and minor roads with sections along forest boundaries. There are tremendous views of the Comeraghs, Knockmealdowns, Galtees, Sliabh na mBan and the Devil’s Bit. Hope you can come and join us. Walking is the easiest way to get moving, get active and fit with friends and to have a chat & a laugh. We are leaving Slievenamon Road carpark 10am SHARP to arrive at Upperchurch at 1030am Contact Brid 086 8071753.
