Fri 4th Aug we travelled to Durrow to complete the 2nd half of the leafy loop. 32 walkers enjoyed exploring around Durrow which looked splendid in the evening sunshine. Lovely local lady and great walking leader Susan Lawlor guided us through a different route with great knowledge of the flora and fauna. Thanks very much Susan for once off entry to grounds around historic house. We enjoyed watching our own “Galway Races” as some beautiful bloodstock showed off in their paddocks. We returned to Durrow viewing some great scarecrows as part of the scarecrow festival. 25 of us enjoyed the hospitality of Dec’s Bar, Durrow. A big thumbs up for delicious fare and homemade sweet bits.
Next week heading to Grange to explore the Crag loop trail. This loop follows forestry tracks which lead to fine views over Kilcooly Abbey and the surrounding hills. As 3rd last walk hope people can join us.
