Sunday 9 June 2019 Denise Laffan led the A group and headed to the Comeraghs where they started from Scouts Hut, then walked up alongside of Shauneenabreaga with lovely views and then onto Knocksheegowna where a few drops of rain fell but cleared very quickly, the group of 10 had lunch on Knockanaffrin in beautiful sunshine, from there descended down with views to the right of Coumduala Lough and then contoured over to the forestry which led the group to Lough Mohra and back through the forestry to the cars.
Joan Lysaght and Maura Creaney led the C walk. The group of 14 started in kings yard and made their way to the black rock valley via forest tracks had rain at the start of the walk but clearing soon after. They had lunch at the base of the zig zags and then travelled up the zig zags to the col between monabrack and bengower after that dropped down to the glounreagh river and back to the cars via the woods had very heavy rain on way back very enjoyable day on the hills.
This coming Sun (Jun 16) A and B walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am. All welcome. Wear outdoor clothing and suitable footwear and bring a rain jacket and a packed lunch. Walking is a great way to get fit as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places. Give it a go as new walkers are welcome to come along, so, for a healthy, sociable and enjoyable activity, feel free to join us in Cashel at 11am. Just bring boots, suitable clothes and a packed lunch. A change of clothes and particularly footwear for after the walk is also strongly advised.
