The Club has been preparing for a safe and responsible return to hillwalking. The Club would normally be taking their summer break at this time of year but since the club has not been walking for the last few months, we have decided to start back walking on the 12th of July and continue from there. There are some changes that the Club needs to put in place in order that we can return to hillwalking safely.

For the coming weeks, the Steering Committee decided to change the time of the A Walk which will now leave Cashel at 9.30am and the B and C Walk will leave Cashel at the usual time of 10.00am, this is to avoid a large group congregating in Cashel. The Sunday Ramble will start at 10.00am. These walks will be for Members Only for the coming weeks.

It has been advised by Mountaineering Ireland that the Club is required to maintain a record of all participants who attend a Sunday Walk with contact details. This will help to facilitate contact tracing in the event that a participant becomes ill with Covid-19. The Covid-19 Declaration will need to be completed by members if attending a Sunday Walk or contact Denise Laffan on 087 9253049 regarding same.

The Club advises all members to bring their own Hand Sanitiser and to minimise sharing of equipment. After hillwalking, quarantine your equipment for 72 hours, or wash it appropriately, before going out again with another person.

Please follow the Public Health Advice regarding social distancing and personal hygiene while on the Sunday Walks. If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 and if you have travelled abroad in the last 14 days then please do not participate in club walks and contact your GP for advice.
