Friday evening walks. July 7, 2017 we headed to Kilcommon to complete the Pilgrim Path looped walk. It’s an ancient path with a mixture of minor roads and forest paths. Near the beginning of the walk we cross the locally made foot bridge over the Bilboa River and our group of 21 walkers chatted happily as we headed into the forest path. The evening air was filled with the perfumed scent of meadow sweet and we returned to the village by the prayer garden and picnic area. Everyone enjoyed the lovely looped walk with refreshments back in Kinnane’s afterwards.
This Friday, 14th July, the group are heading to Birchill, leaving Slievenamon Road carpark, Thurles, at 6.30pm sharp and meeting at Ryans pub Rosmult at 650pm. Everyone welcome; just bring sturdy footwear, a rain jacket, drink and snack. The walks are a great way to enjoy moderate level exercise.
