Twelve of our members have now completed the new Irish Pilgrim Journey, with Brid Hurley being the last to do so this August. Congratulation to our stalwart walker, Bríd Hurley, from Twomileborris who persisted through very poor weather in Cork and on Cnoc na dTobar to complete the full 125km, Irish Pilgrim Journey. Ten other participants, hailing from as far away as California, persisted to complete all 5 walks over 6 days of the event and they are shown, with Bríd, after receiving their Teastas OiIithreachta (completion certificate) from Father Frank Fahey of Ballintubber Abbey.
Anyone still in the process of collecting the 5 stamps can join the upcoming Kerry Pilgrim Weekend (Sept 23 and 24) which offers a guided walk of the 2 pilgrim Paths in Kerry and stamps for the Irish Pilgrim Passport. The paths are:
Cosán na Naomh Dingle, Co Kerry (Sept 23,):
Cnoc na dTobar, Cahersiveen, Co Kerry (Sept 24)
